Steven spent the morning downloading some radio unlocking software that needs the radio serial number. Getting the radio out was very very difficult. Steven managed to fashion some special extraction tools out of old hacksaw blades but ended up using a crochet hook after they became firmly stuck. There is now a hacksaw blade sticking out of the front of the radio that just won’t come out!! All adds to the character of the Hymermobile I guess! Still no joy with unlocking the radio/navigator though.
We packed up the Hymermobile and were on the road once more in the direction of Hamburg. Found a “Stellplatz” site in Ottersburg and again the only ones staying the night here. Site situated in a Sports Complex parking lot.
Ottersberg belonged to the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen, established in 1180. In 1648 the Prince-Archbishopric was transformed into the Duchy of Bremen, which was first ruled in personal union by the Swedish Crown – interrupted by a Danish occupation (1712–1715) – and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown. The Kingdom of Hanover incorporated the Duchy in a real union and the Ducal territory became part of the new Stade Region, established in 1823.
