Hong Kong – 4 Hour Stopover and light Show

Landed in Hong Kong with a 4 hour stopover between flights. Hmmm what to do?  25 min in to city 25 min back by train plus waiting time. Doable!

So cleared immigration and quickly walked to the train station and hopped on the next train for the ride into town. Would have liked to go up to Victoria Peak however it would likely take to much time and I could not risk any delays and Trish and I had an anniversary dinner there once.

Stayed around the harbour and managed to see the 8pm Hong Kong light and sound show where they light up the buildings.

A Symphony of Lights is a daily light and sound show in Hong Kong. It is the world’s largest permanent light and sound show according to Guinness World Records. There are about 42 participating buildings in the show.

The best viewing locations of this nightly spectacle are the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront outside the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the Avenue of Stars, the promenade at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wanchai, and from sightseeing ferries in the Victoria Harbour.

Took a walk around the a walk along the harbourfront and shops stopping to listen to the buskers. All to quickly it was time to head to a metro station to catch the train back to the airport.

Made it in time for the plane to London with minutes to spare.
